The Body Project

In the summer of 2021 I crafted a highly collaborative process with several other artists to explore the way that trauma, both personal and collective was living in our bodies, and we discovered the the piece held so much insight for us about the enmeshed nature of human and societal relationships in the process of trauma and healing. We performed our material-led performance in a local park at the juncture of the natural and built worlds. Click on the image to read more.

I have always been interested in storytelling as a central element of human nature, relationships and social constructs.  Sewing and working with fabric is a lifelong skill and so a natural connection was made.  I tell stories through clothing and other wearable goods.  I love to work collaboratively with other storytelling artists, digging deep to uncover new ideas, perspectives and concepts.  All of my most meaningful and enriching work has come about in community.

Design is a fundamental element that shapes the way we learn about ourselves, our communities and our world.  To create stronger design programs and encourage design as an academic pursuit is to invest in the future of our world.
